As crazy as this sounds, the new school year is already here! We begin classes Monday, August 10th, 2020 promptly at 7:30am. Although we are in a distance learning model, our teachers and staff are committed to providing your student with the best possible learning experience. Please view this email in its entirety for information on very important procedures and answers to frequently asked questions. Before responding directly to this email, see the link at the end to DIRECT CONTACTS for our most asked questions.
Student Requirements and Expectations
1) Students will attend all virtual classes at their scheduled times (see schedule below).
2) Students will check their Google Classroom and school email daily.
3) Students will submit their assignments for grades.
4) Students will contact their teachers live during the Office Hours or via email when they need assistance.
What does my student do on Monday?
Your student needs to sign on Monday morning in their Google Classroom. Students will see their classes and should click on the link to their live class each period. Teachers have provided the links in their Google Classroom. Google Classroom can be accessed by clicking http://classroom.google.com and logging in with their school Google login.
Your student will attend their virtual sessions live via Google Meet/Zoom all 5 days of the week. Each day will have specific periods of instruction. Please see the calendar for the scheduled period times. The links to each class can be found in your Google Class. Calendar can also be assessed by clicking HERE.
Attendance and Participation
Attendance will be taken during all daily live interactions. Students who are not present during daily live interactions, will be marked absent. Participation will be documented by using PowerSchool Gradebook. Grading will be traditional. There is no longer a "no harm" grading policy. Grades are based on the work assigned. Students who are disengaged (not in attendance) will be contacted by staff for intervention.
Technology (Chromebook) and Textbook Distribution
We distributed both Chromebooks and textbooks during our scheduled times and via appointments, however if you were unable to come in to get your Chromebook or textbooks, you may do so Monday-Friday during the hours of 7:30am-2:00pm. For questions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
